There is even more history to be enjoyed in celebration of the city’s maritime past. Edgewater is also one of the few towns that offer a dedicated ferry service to the city. Edgewater’s Binghamton Ferry was the only double-ended steam-powered ferry boat on the Hudson River. It carried passengers from New Jersey to Barclay Street in Manhattan until its retirement in 1967.

Today, Edgewater is home to many small businesses and professional firms. It also offers some of the best shopping in the area.
