Learn about Edgewater

Edgewater is a borough in the state of New Jersey. It is located along the Hudson River in Bergen County. The borough is one of many towns, cities, and communities that border New York City. It is the perfect place for people working in the great metropolis to live and raise a family. Its easy access to Manhattan and the other city boroughs appeals to many residents. It also has its own thriving economy, which makes it a magnet for people looking for a different place to live and work.

Historically, Edgewater is one of the more significant places in the United States. It was the founding colony of Bergen County during the Revolutionary War. It was also the location of the Lever Brothers research center, where the chemist Vincent Lamberti invented the first soap made with animal fat.

There is even more history to be enjoyed in celebration of the city’s maritime past. Edgewater is also one of the few towns that offer a dedicated ferry service to the city. Edgewater’s Binghamton Ferry was the only double-ended steam-powered ferry boat on the Hudson River. It carried passengers from New Jersey to Barclay Street in Manhattan until its retirement in 1967.

Today, Edgewater is home to many small businesses and professional firms. It also offers some of the best shopping in the area. The Binghamton Shopping Plaza, Mitsuwa Marketplace, and Edgewater Commons, and City Place are among the shopping centers. The borough also contains a Whole Foods Market and a Trader Joe’s.

You can easily get to New York City by car or public transport. If you are relocating to Edgewater for a fresh start, you will find the real estate prices reasonable. There is also the chance for you to buy a home and put the work in it necessary to raise its value.
